Magic & Meltdowns
Preparing parents for the unexpected moments between the Disney magic
Hi, I’m Shelley
I’m a mom of 2 boys and I love planning Disney World vacations with my family. The restaurants, resorts, rides, Lightning Lane strategies, spreadsheets and all the little details that can turn a good trip into a great one.
But I also know this:
Traveling with kids is hard.
You can plan the perfect park day and still end up with a meltdown in Fantasyland, a preschooler who refuses to walk another step, or a family that is tired, hungry and completely overstimulated.
And honestly? That's normal.
Disney World is magical, but it can also be a lot. Crowds, noise, heat, long days, unfamiliar environments and disrupted routines can be challenging for kids and parents alike.
That's why I created Magic & Meltdowns: to help parents prepare for the moments that don't make it onto the itinerary.
Here you'll find practical advice, real-world strategies and connections to experts who can help you understand what your child may need and what to do when things don't go as planned.
The goal isn't to prevent every hard moment. It's to feel prepared when they happen, move through them with confidence, and get back to the magic.
